March = Kaput & Requiem = Name Change
2/2/2000 1:11:07 PM - Asylum One

I'd like to begin with a big thanks to everyone who has been offering their help toward this Project.

THANKS!!!!

March = Kaput
----

Next, we've fully decided that our presentation date of March this year is going to be too early. We have not discussed an exact date yet, but we estimate early summer this year. When we present our package to 3DO, it will include a playable demo (as we've previously mentioned,) as well as an introductory video on both CD-ROM and VHS. We're sorry for the time push-back, but it is necessary to provide a spectacular presentation to 3DO and the online gaming community.

Requiem gone died?
-----

Yes, the name Meridian 59:Requiem will be changed. I have personally spoken with members of the Meridian 59 development team (past and present)as well as other 3DO employees, and from what has been said, we've decided that a name change is in order. The reason for the name change is this: A catchy name is definetely an attraction (I admit, the name EverQuest is a good one indeed,) and a name like M59:Requiem seems too much to be like an update from the past. We do have one idea, which we cannot share at the moment due to pending copyright searches, but we would like to open a suggestion box to the public. Now I'm very sure that someone out there has thought of some good names, and we'd like to know what you'd like to see on a cardboard box, with a sub-sub-subtitle 'The Sequel to Meridian 59' or something along those lines. Now, we're not interested in anything that begins with 'Meridian 59' because of the lack of attention to the name, so start from scratch--think of an original.

Reward: Yes, we'll think of something. If we choose your title, we'll provide beta testing privelages and/or free game time or something...we're working on a decision for that at a later point.

Good luck, and good gaming.
