Damion Schubert, better known to "Meridian 59" gamers as "Zjiria", was one of the original key members of the Archetype Interactive team that created the game back in 1996, acting as the Lead Designer. He has stayed busy and present in the online gaming industry since then, most currently as the Lead Designer on "Star Wars: The Old Republic".

Schubert was recently brought in to speak at the Game Developer's Conference in Austin this October '12, and he did an extensive discussion on the early development of "Meridian 59", its initial struggles, breakthroughs, and how it paved the way for online role-playing games for years to come.
