Jah'Lamir the city of Aviens
3/7/2003 5:43:43 PM - Arkblade

The boatman took me to a coastal city far from the gnome caves. It took us nearly a week to get there, but I must say it was well worth the journey. The city is called Jah'Lamir and is populated with bird like creatures (similar to avars). The race called Aviens are a suprisingly advanced group of beings, quite the opposite of their distant cousins the avars we all know.

More report to follow on this journey, right now I am holding conference with one of the local Avien sages. I will write more when time permits ...

===============================================

The Aviens are a very placid race of beings. I would say that neutral best describes their demeanor but according to them, they were once as brutal as the Avars are now. They seemed to have evolved into a higher state of awareness too. They were not even surprised to see me walk through their beautiful city. They saw me as no threat to them so they accepted me and welcomed me at almost every meeting. There were a select few who turned away from me or shook their heads in disapproval, but for the most part, they were all very hospitable.

Vadruezil is the name of the elder I held conference with for a long while. We talked about the happenings in the world of Meridian. He was amazed at how much the people had advanced, but was appalled at how there is still so much strife abroad. Though most of the Aviens I spoke with were using some sort of similar language to the Avars, Vadruezil spoke perfect common tongue with a very slight accent. He told me that he had even met Maleval a long time ago and was impressed with how he wielded magic. That was strange, I have always had nothing but bad luck with Maleval … he doesn’t really seem to like me.

On the last day I was to be in the city, Vadruezil offered to have me tattooed with a magical symbol that would grant me protection and acceptance should I ever venture to the city again. I accepted and had the tattoo done in about 2 hours. Though I haven’t seen it, I’m sure it’s quite tribal seeing how most of the Aviens sported tattoos similarly.

Food report:
Small purple sea creatures called Flahrgri (similar to octopus) are quite tasty.
Landrae is a type of very fine wine with a massive kick. I very much liked this stuff.
Dargotan is a type of dish that smells like rotting vegetables but tastes much like a tasty salad.
