A sad sad day! and Meridian's new fad

Local toon attempts Everest climb

There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth. Looking over the faces in the crowd, this reporter sees nothing but deep sorrow. Even his praported enemies looked downcast at the body, some even misty eyed. I could not tell if it was from respect for the man, or simply from the knowledge that they would never again be able to drive their scimitars between his ribs. But there was sadness in their eyes. The man, the Legend, Cannon Foddor lay resting in peace. Before I continue, it might be well were I to give an account of the preceding events. (Ps post in the forum where this statement is adapted from! Lets see who gets it first! {grin} ). It was 50 years ago that Sir Edmund Hillary first ascended the slopes of Mount Everest. He became the first human to reach the highest place on earth. A challenge that requires one to have great stamina, courage, daring (etc… the list goes on. Heck you can even throw in stupidity and not to many people would complain).

It was just 3 days ago, however, when Sir Cannon Foddor set out to become the first Meridian Toon ever to scale the world's highest mountain. Now, so we don't ruin a good story, pretend I did not spoil the ending by typing what I did at the beginning of this paragraph, ok? Now where was I? Ahhh Ok, "hold me! Kiss me!" said the Princess!
"But what will your father the king think if he walks in? He is just in the next room!" Said the Duke.

Darn! There I go again, wrong story. Major lack of sleep I am sorry. Brb I need to get a cup of coffee. Ok I am back. (I honestly did go for a cup of coffee. No really I did! Bah, if you don't believe me well, you had better stop reading this right now!) Anyway, again, where was I? Oh yes the Duke said…Just kidding *grin* I remember...
It was just 3 days ago. But to some people gathered in this room, it seemed like an eternity since Sir Foddor first begun his ascent. Half way up the slope, a message came down from Sir Foddor via "guild tell". "It is getting really windy up here and there is a LOT of snow". Sir Foddor was advised to make camp and wait out the storm, but he shrugged off the request, and continued his ascent. Two-thirds the way up the slope, another message. This message sounded even more urgent. "Is there any way to send up some toilet paper? I really, really, have to go." When told no, he continued his climb. Three-quarters the way up all we could hear was a resounding

'emote FART'

Then it all happened at once. There was a huge Avalanche. And that was the end of poor ole Sir Cannon Foddor. He would have been proud though. For at his funeral spoke none other then the great Sir Edmund Hillary! (Insert top right)… Following today's viewing, his remains shall be interred at the Tos Royal Graveyard. Donations can be made to the "Get the Gilean rich foundation" Because i know thats thats that he would of wanted.

Crazy new collecting fad

Watch out Pokemon! Move over Mutant Ninja Turtles! There is a sweeping new sensation to hit the Meridian world. The Power Rangers! It's Ranger fever! Everyone is trying to get in on the action: to see who will become the first to get all Seven!! At the annual super hero convention, there was quite a stir. GOTTA LOG UM ALL!!! Was the buzzword of the day. One collector came in with his personal collection of four logged Rangers as was promptly swamped with purchase requests! Another collector sent in pictures of three decomposing Power Ranger bodies, but was promptly laughed out of the convention. Only logged pictures count, its way to easy to get a kill before they have time to log!!! Meanwhile there is talk the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be regrouping. They'll be fighting using maces, instead of the fireballs that the Power Rangers are known for. Who will have more kills is anyone's guess.
