Daily dev post roundup.

A couple more words on our message forums from Psychochild and Q today:

Maybe my memory is just failing me, but I think in an interview or FAQ, someone at NDS said they were going to try to implement some pay by cash system similar to one used in another MMORPG (Probably DAoC if my memory isn't again failing me).

Psychochild: Actually, I said that in a previous post on this board.

Need to talk to them again. It looks fairly reasonable. If we can get a good deal out of them, then PayByCash will be an option.

Just remember that you will pay a bit more for that option than if you used a credit card. That's how they make their money, it seems.

Q reminds us about the newsletter

Q: Hey everyone.

So I'm sure I have some somewhere but I currently can't find any... can someone hook me up with a link to a site with screenshots from the Alpha test?

Thanks!

Psychochild confirming which version of the game will be used, among other infobits

Psychochild: As we said in the FAQ, we are starting from the most recent commercial release.

I'm working on fixing bugs right now. For example, I'm investigating the stat increasing bugs related to cure disease.

I'll post up more info as it's available.

WOOT... Im glad your fixing bugs but im wondering about priorities. I know cure disease was eventually just disabled. I was wondering if you could do that. I mean I think we can all agree that we wouldent care about cure disease not being in game if its the difference of playing now or in a week :) Regardless of what you decide fixing bugs is definately a good thing!

Psychochild: There are a lot of non-programming tasks that have to be completed before we can allow you to play.

For example, we have to get a billing system done, and we want to try to make it as good as possible. Remember all the billing problems you had before? We want to avoid those, and it'll take time to make sure the system works right.

We also have to find a place to host the game servers. We want to make sure we find a good place so that if demand swells above what we expect, we can expand our resources without too many problems.

This is why we haven't mentioned any specific launch dates. We are working fervently to set everything up right and don't have any solid information we can base our estimates off of.

So, I have a little time to fix bugs. :)

Thanks for your understanding.

And that's it for today. No mention of Gerechtigkeit. You know how it is, you rise to the top of the world, but what goes up must come down. ;)
