Ringo no more
6/19/2000 1:23:37 PM - Johnny Ringo

Today I cancelled both my accounts on Meridian, server 103. But, for a reason that is not hard to see, it wasn't near as hard as the first time I left as Doc Holiday, years ago. Why would this be? Meridian is not what it used to be. Meridian used to pull you in, people were friendly and you felt compelled to stay and be on as much as you could. This time, however, I logged on my characters, dropped everything they had in the streets of tos, yelled "bye", and left. I felt no urge to move my hand away from the mouse as I clicked "terminate account" as I did the first time, it was much much easier, almost enjoyable. One major reason, as I briefly discussed in the latest poll was that, I became friends with someone in meridian, and came to trust him very much. I eventually shared my account with him, and he asked me if it was ok if he let his friend come on too, and I let him because he said he trusted him a lot. The character we worked on was rolling along perfectly. But when I left I later found out that they were transferring money, equipment, everything I had from my vaults to their players. After this, the person I trusted in the first place went pking with my character, until he was killed over and over by pkers, and then he suicided him. And it turned out they have both done this before..and have been banned. I threatened to tell a guide even though I knew he wouldn't do anything about it, and he began to threaten me in real life, over ICQ, saying that I shouldn't mess with him (in other more vulgar words of course), and that he could find where I live in 5 minutes. After a few heated arguements he began to get very very angry, I lost sleep for the next 2 nights even though I knew he couldn't actually get to me.
Ok now that I've told you my life story and your all about to fall face flat on your keyboards..I'm saying bye to meridian, even though all my old friends are gone and noone will notice. I will attempt to stay with gilroy's site and help out, but I can't promise anything.
