Psychochild speaks about the server merge.

OK gang, here is the latest scoop. I’ve been talking with Psychochild regarding the server merges. I’m trying my best to get the most information I can to share with the community. I know everyone is anticipating the server merge as much as I am. However, I feel that the merge may been doomed. During one of my latest correspondence with Psychochild, I mentioned the e-mail between myself and GuardianKana and his projection that the merge would happen within a month (which, of course, is closing in fast). I’ve included a brief excerpt of our conversations.
Gilroy: As for the server merge thing.... Please read the excerpt from an e-mail he sent to me recently when I posed the merger question to him. He is confident that the merger will happen.... Soon! ======= Excerpt from an e-mail from Kana (2/9/2000) ======= Server merge should happen within a month. ======= End Excerpt ======= Psychochild: Actually, again, no one told us anything. We actually have about 70% of the server merging done. Vimto has been working on it, and he's been doing pretty well. The problem is, it came down from on high that Vimto was not to spend any more of his time on it. Why? Again, because Meridian probably won't survive for long. No one told Kana (heck, I just found out myself) even though we were told before that it was going to happen. Gilroy: Big, big favor to ask Psychochild... I need permission from 3DO (or someone with authority) to let it be known, without a doubt, that the server merge has been killed. I posted the e-mail from Kana earlier this month, with his permission, saying that the merge would happen within a month. People are already spreading rumors that it is going to happen during next Tuesdays server maintenance. I need to be able to tell the meridian community something.
