This item can be obtained from Afiera D'xor with a little luck. Say "Pupil" to him and he will give you one of three items for the pupil quest: The book, a scroll, or some sugar water. Once he gives you one of these items for the pupil quest, you cannot get the quest from him again for 4 real time hours of being online.

WARNING: It's a quest to bring it to Maleval. If you get one of the others DON'T give it to him unless you want the spell he's offering. If you do you'll get your intellect knocked down some.
