The simple lute is the instrument of choice among the meridian bards. It's rosewood construction offers a deep, rich tone unmatched by any other instrument.

Used to cast Jala Spells.

Can be found on Orc Wizards and Avar Chiefs.

The easiest way to get a normal lute is to complete the instrument quest from Parrin. To start it, say "instrument" to him. He will send you to a random NPC where you need to say "Parrin sent me." The NPC will send you on another random quest, the reward for which is a Lute.

If you find a weapon that has the odd description indicating that it is either a special weapon or cursed, you can equip your Lute and attempt to pick up the weapon. If the weapon is cursed, it will not stick to you. This is incredibly helpful if you don't have an uncurse potion, or the shal'ille remove curse spell.
