I still find it amazing that Meridian is the only game I've ever played that gives me "the shakes".

Starcraft, Halo, Madden, chess, bowling, soccer...none of them give the m59 shakes.

Well of course...in none of those do you have anything to lose except perhaps your pride. There's a buildup...a grind if you will...as you invest a good deal of time in building your character. If you die...there is a death pen.

lol the shakes. That used to suck, I won't lie. I don't think it has much to do with statistical penalties, but the social penalty of dying. For me I think it was about pressure. I put all this pressure on myself to do well, and not die.

I'll get a little nervous right before a big tournament, but I don't feel the pressure for real world pvp.

Ya, I do got access to an account to M59, Finding out alot of new stuff but old stuff for everyone else. Not many people seem to ever be on. Hopefully that all will change when I come home in December.. thinking about rolling up new, seperate from everything and even maybe changing my identity. Hmm we shall see in December eh.

Nicolae, U disarmed my weapon, but it didnt drop. That was when Hold scims were rare still and I didnt feel like losing it to you lol.

Ah, ok. I know I've gotten some special weapons like that before. I have very poor luck of getting them off mobs.

Those were good reads though. Nice to see some of the old names, like Gowon, Maverick, Louis, Metro, Gitup =)

Reading threads, noticed this one and thought it was updated but was wrong - still, somewhat got the shakes just READING my old fight with Brobb as if I didn't know the outcome - just remembering how it felt then! Walking out of the door into the mad uncertainty of a true old school Meridian 59 crazy mmo fps duel.

Usually, when I am really quiet and just letting the other guy be the one to say, "I will never die.", I wind up killing them. This Brobb kill happened very early on for that player, relatively speaking...and he was always talking trash to bait people into fighting him. I never really fought him with my full intent to kill, and had a feeling when I did it would be a great fight but unsure if I'd actually win...but the game was on my side in the end...!

It happened later with Revenant on Cancer or whatever character it was he had - firing an arrow into his repeatedly flashing, truced on, desperate ghost, a day after he said "You'll never kill me : ) " - killing him and looting him dry in the Streets of Tos, chased from Twisted by my determined bald fighter. Just remembering how all of the times in PVP where the outcome is uncertain I get THE SHAKES, so bad that you'd think I am having amild epileptic fit. Anyone else have kills, recent or otherwise, post them in this old thread...give some background thoughts too, if you remember. That's the best part of the logs.
