I noticed that NOBODY uses this anymore because it had been nerfed to kingdom come.


In pvp it is either longsword with effects or bow. Or quake. What were the changes done to it, to make it sucks so much? What changes can be done to once again make it viable to use scim for pvp, instead of being another useless-high-level-skill to get next level?

It's pretty simple, when Scim was good we stabbed with it but they broke every 20 minutes killing trolls. Then someone decided to teach us the right way to hold a scim, and then we stopped breaking em so much, but it sucked for anything but working lvl 4 up.

I think people used to praise the scimitar... what happened?

I still imped and maxed Scimitar Wielding. It feels the same as a long sword, except that it has a shorter range.

Sheez, it's just Second Wind I have to work on, and I've already went past the softcap!

All weapons do virtually the same damage. Therefore the weapon with the longest range (mystic) wins. Or least spellpower penalty (hammer).

Personally I'd like to see scimitars and axes be PF-focused weapons, because they have such short range and huge spellpower penalties. They should have their damage based on agility (something usually PFs have alot of and others do not), and just have plain devastating damage potential. They really are very hard to hit others with compared to fencing weapons, so something should balance that out. It'd also be cool to see a higher disarm rate on the scimitar, again to complement PF types.

Hmm, higher disarm rate sounds nice, considering it's short range vs mystic. Maybe make it so that it will throw weapons more often?

Thats a good idea Ali. I think they should up the damage on Scimitar, which was always an Agility based weapon. And since it has shorter range and almost pointless weapon. It should, if you have disarm, cause disarm to pop off more often. i remember when my pf did almost 30 damage with scimitar, but that was in 3do days.

If you try to cast with a scimitar equipped, you'll have lower spellpower and fizzle alot.

I'm rusty but...

Mace = boost spell power
short sword = not so bad
hammer = not so bad
axe = a little worse
fencing = about the same?
bow = Hmmm I don't really remember where to put this one. I could be wrong on all of this hah!
scimitar = Just horrible

Theres my rough draft, if you don't like it...I will rage quit.

Mace = Plus
Hammer/Spiritual Hammer = Neutral = 0 for realz, if you're not holding a jof you should at least be holding a hammer
ss/ls/mys/jof = not too bad
bow = a little worse
axe/scim = don't bother carrying reags

I'm not sure if it's a spell to hit or spell power smack down
