If it were to only work on monsters it would become completely useless and go unused. it would be better to deactivate it altogether than to have it only affect monsters.

If it were to only work on monsters it would become completely useless and go unused. it would be better to deactivate it altogether than to have it only affect monsters.

What's the best out of the three of these: $1, $5, or $0? According to your reasoning, $0 is better than $1.

Having some application in PVE (such as allowing people to move through zones without fear of attack, the dragonfly queen quest, etc.) is better than no application.

I agree that it would render the spell all but useless. Most monsters are easy to avoid at low hp and at high hp many of us are able to withstand a few attacks should would get in to a situation where Truce might be useful. It would become a spell only useful for low hp chars to run through the jungle (and avoid Shamans and Chieftans). Other than that where do you see a use for Truce in PvE?

The entire point is to render it useless in PvP because truce mules are ridiculous. Suggest an alternative if you don't like my thinking.

I have never personally used truce for anything BUT pve. Granted thats pretty rare for me to even need it. But I so hate the truce to get ppl on BS. I would for sure be ok with doing vs PVE. Rather have a use for it than to just get rid of it. I mean really going with the thought we should just get rid of it you can get rid of half if not more than half of the current spells.

Have to agree with Enchanter Tom. Jig does this same thing against monsters. I say remove Truce altogether. It's a terrible point of abuse. I'd replace it with an AE that stops walls from doing damage while it's up, to preserve an important function.

Truce is pretty awful, yeah. I would support either removing it completely or making it work only on monsters.


There's other uses for Truce other than navigating jungle or doing Riija quest!
Bear in mind that it can still be quite useful during Xeo raids, Thrashing, or other such powerful-monster-areas when you want to help your logged friend get back on.

True - I obviously haven't thrashed often enough. If we lost truce those situations would be much harder to deal with. I'm down with PvE Truce than.

Truce has good strategic value in PvP, like trucing through a sporeburst. Or if your enemy is posted up in a good earthquake spot, you can truce in to rush him. Those hardly ever get used though, it's mostly just a grief spell

I agree with aero. When I drive a shal I may flash log truce/rescue myself, or just truce during pvp in a tactical matter like a basketball coach calls for a timeout during an opponents free throw shots.

Definitely is abused though....

The problem is that anyone who truces on a pvp zone during pvp activity can be attacked. So, it's difficult to really make a change. You could add a focus timer to it like blink, but then that ruins the pvp examples like I and others mentioned.

It's a cool spell that really reflects the theme of shally. You guys think removing the spell from the game completely is the answer?

One more random thought: Dragonfly Queen riija quest?

Please don't remove truce entirely. I'd be OK with it effecting only monsters though. My dudes have good HP, and yet, last time I thrashed I still got into a trouble spot and had to truce for myself to get on and heal up a little.

Would hate to take a death there : )

What if there was a limit for the number of truces allowed to be cast per say 5 minutes?

Like truce can not be cast more then 2 times in a 5 minute period.

or

Truce can only be cast once every 10 seconds .


this could allow for the spell to remain as is and still used for those rare tactical situations but puts a limit on the grief factor
